Internet Cafes?

Hiya! We'll be staying at Club Viva Maya mid-August--I'm thinking that maybe we'll have better luck (and prices??!!) with contacting family back home via email rather than one of those Latadel (sp?) calling cards? Any thoughts on this? Can anyone recommed a location that provides email service and how much it costs per minute or whatever? Thank you!
