We went to Allegro Cozumel and thought it was OK, but would not return. The pool was very nice, as was the beach, but the food was average and the restaurants were HOT. Also, while some people like the thatched roofs, we found the room to be musty and prefer the palapa-look roof, but with real sheetrock. Our reference point is Sandals in Jamaica and Bahamas (can't go wrong), Moon Palace in Cancun, Crown Paradise Club (which we would recommend), and most recently the new El Dorado Royale.
