: : : Arrived back on 7/3 from El Dorado Royale. Here is what we found: : : : 1. Most of the amenities listed in the brochure are not ready or non- existent. : : : 2. Only Three of the four restaurants are open. : : : 3. The Spa portion of the hotel is not complete and there are no tennis courts or gym yet. : : : 4. The beach in front of the hotel is mostly rock, however, there is nice white sand beach about a 20-minute walk away. : : : 5. Location is horrible, it a $40(round trip) cab ride to Cancun or Playa Del Carmen. They do have a shuttle to Cancun that leaves at 9 am and returns at 5 pm which makes for a longgg day. : : : 6. Our A/C broke four times until they finally agreed to move us to another room. : : : 7. Construction is still going on and starts about 7am every morning that makes it virtually impossible to sleep in. : : : 8. Water in the room taste like saltwater. Had to use bottled water to brush our teeth. After using the in room Jacuzzi the first night we noticed a brown residue was left in the tub. : : : 9. We talked with some of the other couples and they were transferring to other resorts while we were there. I am currently pursuing a refund from my travel agent. : : : Best advice is to book another resort if it isn’t to late. : : I went to this resort in June. Granted, the resort is not completed yet, but I had a wonderful time. I had a chance to speak with the owner, and he explained that they experienced some construction delayes, which, in turn, delayed everything else. I, however, had no problems and was very impressed with the resort and it's staff, and I am returning to the resort in August. I was fortunate enough to become close friends with some of the staff and have been in contact with them as to what is going on. They are handling complaints as they come and are trying to keep everyone happy. I work in a travel agency, and the couples we have sent there since it opened, have come back and COMPLEMENTED the resort, the only thing they had difficulty with was the water in rooms, which will be taken care of in the near future. You have to understand that in Mexico, things take longer, and anytime you are staying at a newly opened resort, there are going to glitches. : : In my professional opinion, this resort is great, and once completed, it will be spectacular. : Re: Granted Cindy, the resort will on day be nice, but this is the one trip I take a year and expect the resort to provide what is promised. If it's not finished they should let everybody know. Had I known of the construction delays I would have found another place to stay. I can only assume, you being a travel agent, made a difference on how they responded to your needs. My complaints/ problems fell on deaf ears.
