: We are planning to book a trip in September (until I read these comments) and we are starting to rethink the situation. Would you stay there again in September or would you go elsewhere? : : I agree with his comments re: the people. They are pretty darn wonderful and friendly. Our favorite was Santiago followed closely by the waiter Jesus. : : One thing we had the chance to experience was the sea turtle who came onto the beach to dig a hole to lay her eggs. She was huge and it was truly a once in a lifetime experience. Those being there during the end of July or beginning of August just may be able to see the eggs hatch. : : I agree with his negatives, too, but would like to add a few. : : 1) No phone service to the US. We had to go to either Cancun or Playa del Carmen to make a phone call. : : 2)The beds are more than hard, it is like sleeping on the floor! : : 3) Maybe the casitas are better insulated, but the regular rooms are not. We could hear the people next door going to the bathroom. : : 4) The water in the jacuzzi was brown - not just a brown tint - it was brown. We had no problem drinking the water in the restaurants, though. It tasted fine. : : 5) Construction workers are living on site right now, and sawing, drilling, and calling to one another continued until late into the night. : : 6) We went to an ocean resort to hear the ocean. Unfortunately, the resort feels the need to 'entertain' by blaring music from bullhorns placed every 20 yards or so on all the sidewalks. I think they have only 1 CD. It plays from about 10:30 AM to 11PM or later. Even after repeated requests to turn the music down or off, it continued to blare. This was our biggest problem. : : 7) The safe did not exist in our room, and we were robbed. The hotel reimbursed us for our loss, but there is still that feeling of violation. : : 8) The beach has a very severe undertow. Even walking out slightly past knee deep, it was difficult to stand. : : 9) The window in the bathroom opens from the outside and does not lock. : : : I also agree with Mark we should not have had to pay full price for a not completed property. We feel like we did not get what we were promised nor what is posted on the net. We were pretty disappointed. Although the resort is beautiful, it's beauty seems to be skin deep.
