Hi, we've been there 5 times never stayed on bottom floor, but have never experienced any rodents. Ants in the room a couple of times. It's better to stay on top floor because views are better as there are thickly planted palms all over beach. We think older rooms are better than Jacuzzi suites because these newer rooms are further away from restaurant, pool and better beach area (south end of resort) there are a few jacuzzi rooms on this end but still longer walk to restaurant, pool, front desk area. We truly love this resort, but it is not the place for those who love active night life. The most beautiful beach we've ever experienced anywhere in Mexico or the carribbean. The hotel is on a reef so no waves like Playa or Cancun, with excellent snorkling right there.
