The only "critter" we encountered in our room was a Gecko. FREAKED me out the first time I saw him, but I got use to having him around, and I guess they are said to bring you good luck... must have worked as we have had three great holidays at the Iberostar.

As for the monkeys -- Sad to say, but they have been taken away to and eco-park just South of the PDC/Playacar area. They became just a little too friendly/unfriendly with the guests. Also, the guests were getting too friendly with them as well, be feeding them, etc. However, they do have other animals, birds, etc. that are fun to see and are just fine with the guests.
