About 1 hour, maybe longer if bus has to stop at several resorts before arriving at the Yucatan. We booked through Sunquest, very organized, reps with signs everywhere.

At first they will give you only what's available, insist on a better room and usually after a day or two they will assign a new room. Although maybe a hassle to repack & move. Buildings 4, 5 & 6 are near the beach & pool; 7, 8 & 9 are at the very back, more quiet but longer walks.
You will not be disappointed with this resort. Take the tour to Riu Palace, its awsome, however, taking to several people who stayed there on our week said it was a boring place, they spent most of their time at the Yucatan & Tequila for fun.
