Wait until after sunset. The bats put on quite a show. Don't worry, they're not the vampire type that go for your neck and they won't get tangled in your hair. If they're flying low it freaks me out a bit so I close my eyes on lit pathways in the early evening. All the resorts in this area have them. As for the monkeys, sad to say they were forcibly removed last year after too many dumb tourists forgot they were wild. You're going to a resort that has a jungle portion right on the resort plus you're near to natural jungle. Creatures come with the equation. Relax, enjoy, appreciate and respect.

: I know this is a bit ridiculous, but I have a deathly phobia of lizards and frogs and most bugs. We are going to be at the Iberostar in August and was wondering if anyone who has been there in the past could give me some info. on the so called wildlife there. I have heard different things, like they have monkeys that hang out on your balcony to iguanas on the grounds. It sounds to me that if they have all that I'm sure you are bound to wind up with a lizard or two in your room. Someone please respond so I can prepare myself.
: Thanks.
