Fisherman's Village in Playacar has beautiful condos in a beautiful, small hotel/condo resort. It is full of amenities -- restaurant, bar, shops, concierge, exercise room. Great beach, super units with authentic Mexican furniture, fully equipeed kitchens. I loved this place. The two drawbacks are that it is comparatively expensive and it is a 10 to 15 minute walk into town. The walk got a little old, since we went into town several times a day. I am staying at the Porto Real in Nov., but if I needed a condo, I would definitely go back to Fisherman's Village and pay the 3 bucks for the cab.
