: Hi Janice, I just got back from Iberostar PDC a week ago and would definitely recommend it--with the quality and selection of the food being one of the highlights. I have been on many cruises and to a few all-inclusives, and this was definitely the best food I have had on this type of vacation. The number of items to choose from is just amazing. The buffet breakfast includes a bagel/toast stand with many different spreads such as cream cheese, nutella, peanut butter, jams etc., a fruit area with wonderful fresh fruit such as mango, papya, melon, pineaplle, etc., a cereal area with prepared cereals and ingredients to make your own muselix, a salad bar area with sliced meats, cheeses, vegetables and cooked dishes with some mexican choices, and a cooking area with bacon, ham, breakfast potatos, all kinds of eggs and a made-to-order omellette station. There are also several kinds of fresh juices, coffee, teas and espresso. And that was just breakfast! I never went to the main restaurant for lunch because the more casual lunch in the poolside restaurant was good enough by far--salad bar with great guacamole, pico de gallo and chips, good pizza, burgers, sandwiches, and several cooked entrees like pasta, barbeque chicken, fish, tostadas....also MacDonald-like french fries, desserts and a full bar!! The buffet dinners are like the breakfast--unbelievable items to choose from including a specialty drink, soups, fabulous desserts and many entrees to sample. I think show cooking just means when they are preparing the dishes right there at the buffet--such as seafood pasta--or carving roast beef to your liking. If you go for 7 nights, you can choose 2 of the 3 specialty a la carte restaurants--we went to the mexican and steakhouse, both of which were VERY good (there is also an italian one) they both have a good appetizer buffet and you order from the menu for your entree, dessert and drinks. and yes, these are included in your package price and you don't have to tip. As well as the food, the resort is wonderful, and I'm sure you will love it. I would rate it an 8.5 out of ten. Small improvements to the rooms (which are fine, but not luxurious) and the service (which is ok, but not top-rate) would make it a 10. My advice-take a nice beach towel to lie on (they have plenty of towels but they're kind of small and not soft) and some room spray (the rooms are musty, as is usual in a tropical area). Once again, you'll love it--I wish I were going back already!!
