new finds...
Mayabric Hotel--pool, not on beach (but close), very cheap (off season rooms w/ ac for $35).
Casa de Gopala--pool (share with next door hotel), not on beach, cheap
Gloria del Caribe--pool, not on beach (further away), cheap

will probably send e-mail request for info to each hotel and pick from the best rate for the services provided...this is kinda fun---thanks for the great site.
