I would not recommend the drive from Cancun to Akumal at that time of
of night because I almost got my sister and I killed driving in the dark from
Playa Del Carmen to Akumal. The locals don't always turn their headlights
on when it starts to get dark. Also, turn signals are NOT to be believed!!!!
If I where to be arriving in Cancun at 8pm I think tha tI would would wait unitl morning to make the drive.
Maybe I am just over cautious due to past experience.
