Spent a week at El Dorado last January (1999). Absolutely loved it! We were on our honeymoon and can't wait to get back.
Very secluded, quiet. Playa del Carmen is only about 1/2 hour away via taxi for shopping, partying, etc.
If you're looking for a loud party scene, this is not your best bet. If you want to sit around the outdoor bar at night with about 12 other from all over the world,
view the magnificent stars and enjoy the fabulous frozen concoctions, then EDR is for you.
Excellent snorkeling, great food, very relaxing...
We're planning a trip with about six other for next winter. Need to escape these cold Iowa winters.
