The cool tones of the sea and sky are carried through Villa Azul in the furnishings and the blue tile.

The first floor features a spacious entryway leading to the large living and dining area overlooking the beach and the sea. On the same level are the kitchen), a veranda on the beach, a bedroom with queen-size bed and full bathroom, and a half bath.

The living area has a cozy sitting area decorated with rattan furniture. A variety of tropical plants are placed throughout the house. The dining area seats eight people comfortably.

The second story houses three bedrooms, two of which have twin beds, private bathrooms, and a balcony. The master suite features a king-size bed, a private bath, and a balcony.

The beach on this side of the island is wide and unpopulated. Being one of the last homes north of the hotel area, few beach walkers pass by. The waters are calm enough for leisurely snorkeling.
 

The location is approximately 300 yards north of the Mayan Plaza Hotel, which offers shops,restaurants, windsurfing, and jet-ski rental. Since the house is off the main road, you may want to rent a car.
